so cold. so young

Here's a promotional video I shot today during the snow squall hoopla. The wintery weather in January was a nice change for the April mildness we've been having. Appreciate both, of course.

Thanks to Nouvelle Vague and Charlie Watson for the jazzy notes.

the young march

I knew it was going to happen, so I made sure to bring my camera this morning along with me on my morning jog. Always great to take part when the people are fighting the man. Even today, when the people are making my life very uncomfortable for the past 8 weeks. Keep on marching, good people. Just hope it's resolved soon. Here's some raw footage I caught.

go outside

I had some leftover tape on some video I shot last week for something I'm working on. Thought I would just group them all together and play around with my video editing machine. I played around with the light, speed, contrast. All that good stuff. I liked what I created, so I added a song to go along with the story. Good thing I found just the right track to give the video meaning. After some frustrating moments and computer freezes, this is what I came up with. Pretty good for something I thought was just going to be a quick run in the sprinkler...

vlog: what holiday is it, anyway?

I know I haven't done any in a while, so here it is. This time, I'm changing up the format a bit. Trying something new. I dig it. I think I'm going to continue to make vlogs like these. What you think?

pure michigan

Finally got back from the Island this afternoon. Straight to the local coffee bubble to do some work. Ended up doing up this video of my weekend in Mackinac. I had a wonderful time. Should've cut more video. These highlights didn't get the half of it. Unfortunately, so but at least you got a taste that will wrack up as a wonderful memory that will be thought of often.

another boring storm..

My Twitter and Facebook feeds came alive earlier with the threatening of a huge thunderstorm. Doors shut, the television cracked on the news, I was ready. I set up my cam by my bedroom window to cover the footage to post up later on. Thought I would have some fantastic views of the thunder and the potential hail. And that rumor of a tornado landing. The storm came and went. Nothing. I uploaded the footage anyway and this is what I got. A lousy, boring storm in Newmarket. I hear just down the street though got a classic show. Lucky them.

never thought it would end this way..

I wrote this poem a while ago for an anti-drug comp. I lost. I never thought of it again till today. I shot this video today to go along with it. This one means a bunch to me. I hope you enjoy. Below is the poem.

words to go along and the freedom

A while ago I posted a video of me doing poetry. People liked it. I still get rave reviews about it. I wrote a couple of new poems on the weekend and I thought I would do a follow-up video.

the jogging path

Here's the video I was talking about earlier. This was originally supposed to be something totally different, but it was only during the editing process it turned out to be what it is. I like it. Much better from what I originally planed. Anyway. What do you think? Thoughts?

where did i get this energy from?

Was tired this morning. All week, really. Didn't think I was going to do anything today. Sat in front of my computer and just thought. What to do while doing the regular internet morning runs while listening to the news that was on behind me. I read some blogs and then remembered that I had to do some writing. For my Our Kids bit. Started to do some investigating. Research on what to write. I checked around while glaring outside and the beauty that it was. Sunshine. Light breeze. It was fantastic. I was inspired. I decided to do an article about gardening.

I noticed I had frozen wings in my freezer. Decided to put them on the babie for lunch. I made a video. I never thought I would do so much today. I had no energy. Where did this energy and inspiration all of a sudden appear from? The sun inspires. The light breeze does, too.

I decided to do a video of me working. This is a video of me editing my video of making the chicken wings. This is me rubbing my eyes and eating. Reading. Writing. This is me on a typical day. Still. Don't know where this energy came form.

your soul and the chickens...

It's nice out. The good thing of working from home is that I have the freedom of doing what I want. With restrictions, of course. You will never get work done if there's all anarchy. There must be some type of rules and regs set to keep order. And sanity. I decided to quit early and enjoy the day. Got outside. Put on the old Barbie and made some wings along with some frozen veggies I had stashed away in the back of the freezer. It was a short lived afternoon adventure with me, myself, I and the poor little chickens that I had a grand ol' time eating up after dunking them into a dashing of ranch dressing.

rockin' in a free world

To keep busy on the train last week, I decided to document some of my ride from Toronto to Windsor. I love riding the train. Get to take in a bunch of this country that I never get to see and appreciate. It reminds me how beautiful this land is and how proud I am to be Canadian.

world of yoga

Before Yoga became the big trend it has become to today, Waldorf was teaching it in schools. It was an alternative to high school kids who didn't want to do Drama or sport activities or Handworking. I had Yoga class twice a week for one semester for two years straight. I didn't really appreciate it as much as I should've as I used it usually as a way to skip class and grab a large coffee from the local donut hangout. However, I did get that connection when I did attend. I had a feeling that Yoga would become as big as it has today. It was just that cool and trendy to be huge in the suburbs. As someone who doesn't really do the gym thing I don't get my chance to go to Yoga classes. I walk everywhere. I think that's workout enough for me. However, I do respect the art form it embraces and the psychology behind it. This is why I was happy to accompany my Mom last weekend to check out the big Yoga Conference in Toronto at the Convention Center. The three day treat for all ages was a Mecca for local Yogagoers around the way and meditation gurus from the local land. It was a hippie fest. Dozens of booths hawking clothing, natural foods, mats, natural medications, and books were placed in a the large room on the second floor while in the center, hundreds of people lined up for a free Yoga class' led by some of Toronto's finest teachers.

The day went awesome as it opened up my mind to the current Yoga universe and how it can really help you. Mentally and physically. My Mother even got a free acupressure mat out of the deal, too which is cool as I tried it the following day and I fell asleep on it for almost an hour and waking up feeling refreshed inside and out.

I'm surprised Waldorf didn't have a booth there as it seemed somewhere the Waldorf name would've belonged. Even without them, it felt like I was in high school all over again and opening my spirit wanting to be educated about the unknown universe of Yoga and meditation. Now, at least, I'm more open to knowing more.
