Finally got back from the Island this afternoon. Straight to the local coffee bubble to do some work. Ended up doing up this video of my weekend in Mackinac. I had a wonderful time. Should've cut more video. These highlights didn't get the half of it. Unfortunately, so but at least you got a taste that will wrack up as a wonderful memory that will be thought of often.

welcome to summer 2011..

Welcome to Summer 2011. To celebrate this yearly landmark of patio drinking and late nights outside sharing laughs and good company, I decided to cook up the barbecue with chicken breast and enjoy a nice bowl of squash soup. Made a quick vlog to welcome all of you to the best time of the year. Well. My actual favorite season is Spring, but you know what I mean. Anyway...Here's the vlog and I promise I'll be doing more of these in the coming weeks.

Remember when I won a bunch of stuff from Casie Stewart and Doritos? I posted the winning entry last week on here. Anyway, the package came today. Full of fun stuff. Here's a video of me showing everything off along with me trying out the new chips.

I've been meaning to start a vlog for a while now. Last week after school I finally had some time to do a video on how to make Curry Chick Pea and Chicken. Cooking is one of my favorite things to do. Eating is another favorite thing. I love them both equally. Even though, creating the dish is always fun. I'm going to try to do more vlogs now that I know how to use Windows Movie Maker. That thing is my new favorite toy. Anyway, here's the video. Let me know what you think..

twenty years later...

I get inspired by many things. Art, Nature, Mom's Cooking, Old comedians, people passing me by on the street, birds, dogs, cats, old television shows, my family. Friends. But there's something about Hip Hop that hits that extra nerve of mine that gives me that extra umph to do something now. To do something Original. Especially around this time of year. I think its because I was introduced to Hip Hop in the summer of 1989 that I always associate Hip Hop with the summer. Some of my favorite Hip Hop memories happened in the summer. But the most vivid ones were the times I heard a track for the first time. Like when I was in the backseat of my cousin Ray's car in the Bronx and he played me Tread Water by De La Soul or when I rushed home to put on Tical by Method Man or when my cousin shared with me the story behind Pete Rock and CL Smooth's T.R.O.Y. Later on I would be inspired by the whole culture aspect, but to this day whenever I hear one of those tracks from my early days in Hip Hop I feel like I have the strength to conquer the world. Only something so magnificent, pure, magical and strong can still that effect on someone 20 years later.

I'm going to try to post more Vlogs on here. Below is my first attempt. Maybe I'll do more. Maybe not. For now, this is what I'm offering as an audition. Check it out and you'll see how much Hip Hop is really apart of my daily life.
