have a slice of this.
I have no idea what this is supposed to be. A commercial? An actual song from two Hip Hop legends and a top model or just a spoof. Whatever it is, it confused me. Kate Upton doing something with Biz and Snoop barking about Food.

friend of mine - d-sisive
This video is cuter than my belly button. When I first heard the track a few months ago, it reminded me of those days in elementary school. The days when your stomach was in tangles because you had sent a special note to that special someone. When you finally get the reply, she wrote that she liked you. Only as a friend. Biz sang about it before, But D-Sisive busts out a story with a cute video to match - speaking for a whole new generation of `friends'.

quote: rick rubin
When I first started this page, I used to post a quote weekly. A unique and inspirational piece of wisdom. I'm going to start it again. Our first quote is from none other than Rick Rubin:
From the beginning, all I’ve ever cared about is things being great. I never cared about when they were done. Because I also feel like I want the music to last forever. And once you release it, you can’t go back and fix it, so you really have to get it right. And that takes time.
[…]
The things that can’t be a factor are time, chart position, radio success, sales—none of those things can get in the way of something being great. All they do is cloud the picture.
Words of wisdom from legendary producer and Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin.

notes to self shoot latest video in windsor
While our homies Notes to Self continue to drop top notch material, they've also done some impressive work on their videos. The new video for the single, Recoil does not disappoint. Shot in Windsor, Ontario, they group almost got arrested while shooting the robbing scene. They blame the masks.
de la drops video for single, get away
I posted the audio version of this track a few weeks ago. I usually don't repeat posts, but in this case, I found an exception. The video for De La's latest masterpiece, Get Away, has dropped and just shows you why De La Soul remain the tightest and most original Hip Hop groups of all time. This video makes me feel good.

get away - de la soul feat. the spirit of the wu
If there's still one group in Hip Hop that I get fuzzy feelings about when they drop new product, it's De La Soul. The new single, Get Away doesn't disappoint. The track gets extra points for the Wu Samples.

hip hop quotable
Every word I say should be a Hip Hop quotable. I think the following is effective in a place like New York, but I don't think it can work anywhere else. Street Art with a message. I'm down.

Where have I been? Not in the cool room, obviously. I gladly take a late pass on this one. A must hear for any Nas fan.

As per my previous post, there's nothing wrong with digging into the crates for some classic 90s Cancon to help you shake the Monday blues. Today in the tape player, we have the mighty Rascalz. Turn it up.

hush the crowd - j-live
Flipping through some old CD's to see who will join on my journey this morning to the four walls I call my workplace. Found an old Hip Hop colab project featuring Defari and other gents. I remember when I first bought it, the following is the track that stood out and how I was introduced to the legendary J-Live. To me, Hush the Crowd is an underground classic from those standout years in the good ol' 90s. Turn it up and get to work...

krs drops knowledge
It's not secret how huge of a KRS-One fan I am. But am also the first to call Kris out on his tiered egotistic preachiness. However, this time around, The Teacher does well. Listen while the teacher speaks..

jigga live
Industry circles have been bubbling about this documentary since early fall. It's a look at the making of Jay-Z performance at the Barcklays Center. The first person to ever bless the stage. From a former concert promoter standpoint, It brought back a lot of memories of putting on a show, coupled with shivers down my spine just seeing how far Hip Hop has come...
