saul's doodle
The best Google Doodle appeared today on the popular search engine. The video celebrated Saul Bass' 93rd birthday. Bass was an American graphic designer and Oscar winning filmmaker, who was primarily known for his design of movie title sequences, film posters and corporate logos. Might have seen his work in The Man with the Golden Arm, and was the guy who did came up with AT&T "bell" and its "globe" logo in the 80s.

salute, spring.
It's my favorite season of the year. Salute, Spring. We've been waiting for you. Snow is still on the ground, and the chill is still in the air, but by studying the long-term forecast on The Weather Network, it looks like we're going to get some sunny skies with hotter temps by the weekend and should be staying on the plus side for the foreseeable future.
I can't wait to get digging in my yard. Can't wait to get jogging again. Afternoon walks in the park with my camera and everything else that comes with the season. Here's a design I did this morning to welcome in the spring solstice. The picture was taken at the homestead. Cool plant I picked up last fall. Might do more designs with it. Love the colors.
Happy Spring to You.

I was asked by a friend of mine to help him out at his new DJ night in my old hood. I'll be spinning Friday night. Don't know the exact details of when I'll be throwing down, but you can get all the info Here. It would be awesome if you guys can come down to the basement and jam with me. Rock'n'Roll!

needle and damage done
Spent the morning at the doctors office taking part of the yearly enjoyment of The Great Physical. The morning went fast. Took a picture after the needle was taken. Came up with this while doing my daily Photoshop brain exercise. Thinking some medical company might want to buy it. Well, Maybe..

If you don't know about this French design duo, check them out. They do some pretty amazing stuff with paper, color and typography. Here's a short behind the scenes video of them at work. Just incredible.

paul rand
Art is art. Inspirational. I'm going to start posting inspiring stuff on Fridays. It'll get you up for the weekend and give you that extra umph to make the day your best. To start off the new feature, here's someone who I always found inspirational. Paul Rand. In case you don't know, he was the man behind such iconic logos for ABC, IBM and UPS.

life is epic
I was browsing the interweb this afternoon and came across two of the most inspirational and captivating photos I've ever seen concerning rock stars. As I went to bed, I was still thinking of both of them. Hours later. I then came up with a tagline, and just had to get to work. I changed up the pictures a bit and then did up the tag line on both. I might do more of these, but I doubt I will ever find as inspirational flicks as these two.
