radio does good. john donabie gets jazz-fm morning gig

Sometimes radio does good. Sometimes, the moves are well thought of and fit. This is one of them and yes. I will be tuning in on Monday to hear a true class act and my all-time favorite Sunday morning man, John Donabie.

Here's the official press:

JOHN DONABIE NEW HOST OF JAZZ.FM91 MORNING SHOW

Toronto, Ontario (November 26, 2010) – JAZZ.FM91 is thrilled to announce the launch of its new morning show, “Good Morning…with John Donabie”, beginning Monday, November 29th, 2010 from 6:00AM to 10:00AM.

Radio veteran John Donabie is a long time jazz fan who has interviewed many stars including, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Dizzy Gillespie and Chick Corea. He has also chatted with music legends Brian Wilson, Bob Dylan, and the late John Lennon.

Donabie will be bringing his extensive knowledge of music, culture, politics and all things relevant to Toronto, weekday mornings, along with daily appearances by one of Toronto’s favourite personalities, Jaymz Bee.

“There is nothing more satisfying that getting up early each morning and doing something that you love. JAZZ.FM91 is a radio station that I have listened to and supported for years. Knowing I will help start everyone's day with the music of Diana Krall, Pat Metheny, Oscar Peterson and more, is reason enough. Bantering with Jaymz Bee; and news from Tim Keele and the BBC, is a bonus. I am truly excited about hosting the new morning show, at this very special radio station,” John Donabie said.

“We are delighted to welcome John Donabie to the JAZZ.FM91 morning show. He brings an optimistic, fresh and relatable voice to the mornings and I know our audience will embrace this exciting change,” said Ross Porter, President and CEO of JAZZ.FM91.
