cross out at edge..
One of the most well known music nerds on local radio has been silenced as Program Director at The Edge. Alan Cross, mostly known as the host of The Ongoing History of New Music, is the new Programmer at Splice Media - which is an interactive division of Corus Radio. Corus' also own The Edge along with other guy stations, AM640 and Q107. "He just left one room in the kingdom to move to another" hinted one radio insider.
"I’m thrilled to announce that Alan Cross will be joining our team." read the company line. "Alan is a passionate devotee of all things interactive, an experienced and innovative program director, a prolific multimedia talent and arguably Corus radio’s premiere national radio personality as host of The Ongoing History of New Music. He’s also a dedicated techno-geek,so he should fit right in"
Cross had seen all shifts around CFNY since starting to work there in 1993 fresh from Winnipeg. First as the overnight guy, he then took the drive home shift until 2001 when he left for Y108 to become the stations PD. He then returned to The Edge as their PD in 2004.
Since Cross is still with the Corus umbrella, it's expected that OHONM will continue as usual on Sunday mornings on the Edge.
