According to their Twitter feeds, CITY-TV anchors Francis D'Souza and Avery Haynes will be heading up CITY-TV's new news program starting Monday along with CTV news vet, Tom Hayes. Tom, the great storyteller, left his CTV desk early last month and announced via the social networking circles that he has signed on with main rivals, CITY-TV. The news program, CityNews@5 is set to premier Monday. "CityNews at Five becomes the Greater Toronto Area's new weekday destination for local news first. Out on the streets and in the community five days a week." Said the press release.
In related news, CITY's top rated Breakfast Television will be starting at 5:30am come September 6th. A half hour before it's usual 6am start.
