biggs and barr playing the hitz?

For as long as I have followed radio gossip, I have never really got how millions of people can care where one guy goes. Radio is a very intimate medium. That's the reason why I fell in love with it way back when. The listener and the talent form this friend in the dark type of friendship that's amazing. Of course, because of this, the radio station always becomes hum when news breaks that the talent is off somewhere else. Listeners are left calling, stalking and scoping out the scene to find at least one clue on where their beloved rock lord has gone to.

Such as the case with Jason Barr. Formally of the Edge morning Show.

Last summer, I reported here that Barr teamed up with old Virgin host, Chris Biggs to form a new morning team, Biggs and Barr.

I was able to tell by the weekly and daily statistics on the site that people want to know more news on the whereabouts of this new team. Where will they end up causing trouble?

No fear, kids. Shane's here.

I did some investigating. On Tuesday it was reported via the team's podcast that they'll be on a radio station tomorrow morning to announce that it'll be they're new home. I started to wonder. Some media sorts were saying maybe Flow will make the format flip this weekend to have Biggs and Barr front the new station format? Maybe they'll kick out an existing less expecting morning crew on another station? Alas, we weren't looking far enough south.

It looks like Southern Ontario Modern Rocker 97.7 HITZ-FM has a major announcement at around the same time the two guys were saying they'll be on-air.

Huh.

Again, this could be a coincidence. Maybe Biggs and Barr are pulling a fast one on us? Maybe HITZ is in good old radio fun fashion?. I don't know.

I am not confirming anything. Just an observation.

So, my advice to all Biggs and Barr fans out there. Tune into HITZ tomorrow morning at 7:30am. I'm sure you'll find something you'll be wanting to rock to for a while now.
