rip martin streek

There's been some reports swirling around tonight that a CFNY cornerstone has passed away. Martin Streek was found dead in his apartment Monday. Apparently the legendary jock updated his Facebook account earlier with the words, So...I guess that's it...thanks everyone...I'm sorry to those I should be sorry to, I love you to those that I love, and I will see you all again soon (not too soon though)... Let the stories begin.

We have received confirmation that the story is indeed true which has become a true tragedy to the local radio scene.

Streek was known for his years working with 'NY as the club guy and hosting the stations weekly countdown show. Martin Streek will be missed by anyone who had a pleasure of working with him or listening to his resounding booming voice which screamed out the appreciation he had for the culture and profession he was part of.
