cross out at corus..

A radio hero for music nerds around the GTA has been kicked out of his longtime position at Corus Entertainment. Cross has been "restructured" out of the company with his last day back on June 30. While he was the longtime host for The Ongoing History of New Music on The Edge, he was also the program director at Corus Interactive and Integrated Solutions which included overseeing the company's online arm, exploemusic.ca. “There's some pretty interesting expressions of interest which I find extremely flattering,” Cross told toronto.com. “For the first time in decades, really, I am able to explore opportunities with other companies. It could be writing, it could be television, radio, online, I don't know.”

Cross started at CFNY back in its heyday back in 1986 as an overnight announcer, working himself up to the drive home guy and then to Program Director when the station flipped to Edge 102.1. The Ongoing History of New Music aired episode 691 before it went on hiatus at the end of May.
