derringer with q for another decade

Good to hear. Fist for fist, this is the best morning show in Toronto today. Sorry, guys. It is. Always enjoy tuning in - which I don't do enough - and just having a good morning. Derringer is a stand-up media dude and I'm happy that he'll be comfortable for the next ten years. Here's the official media jabber.

TORONTO, Dec. 15 /CNW/ - Corus Entertainment is pleased to announce a new 10-year agreement with John Derringer and Toronto's classic rock station, Q107. With this long-term agreement, John will continue in his role as the morning drive host of Derringer in the Morning.

"Corus is my home, and Q107 is the family room where we get to sit and have a laugh every day with the very loyal Q107 audience," said John Derringer. "In the entertainment business, there's nothing more important than being surrounded by people who understand and support what you do."

"As one of Toronto's most recognized voices, John has put his own unique stamp on morning radio in this city. He exemplifies the calibre of exceptional talent and programming that Corus is committed to delivering to its audiences," said Chris Pandoff, Executive Vice President and President, Corus Radio. "John's extraordinary ability to connect with listeners has helped solidify Q107's dominant position in the marketplace."

John Derringer has been named Radio Personality of the Year nine times by Canadian Music Week and Favourite Toronto Radio Personality by the Toronto Sun, EYE WEEKLY and NOW Magazine. A tireless supporter of many philanthropic causes, Derringer continues to be an advocate of the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness through Derringer's 13 Days of Christmas, and the B.A.D. Ride which benefits the Distress Centres of Toronto.
