From Toronto Sun..
A Toronto landmark from the days when rock 'n' roll was king is back on the scene.
The iconic CHUM Radio sign, which lived for decades at the AM station's 1331 Yonge St. location, will be hung at the corner of Richmond and Duncan on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
After nine months of refurbishment, the sign will sit atop the new home of CHUM Radio at 250 Richmond. Radio stations 104.5 CHUM FM and CP24 Radio 1050 will be moving to the premises at a later date.
"This sign is a great reminder of CHUM Radio's irrefutable place in the history of this city," said Chris Gordon, president of CHUM Radio, in a statement.
CHUM Radio launched in Toronto in 1945. The first CHUM sign was installed in 1959 and was altered to the current design in November 1978.
The sign was removed from Yonge St. in September 2008.
