the wedding singer..

Here's another installment of movie triva. This time we look at the feel-good love comedy, The Wedding Singer. I've always loved Drew.

Kevin Nealon's second cameo in an Adam Sandler film. The first was as a golfer in Happy Gilmore (1996); this time he's a bank manager.

Carrie Fisher worked uncredited on the script.

Production of the film took over a year and a half.

The butterfly jean jacket that Julia wears throughout the movie actually belongs to Drew Barrymore . The director liked her jacket and told her to wear it as part of her costume.

The guitar that Adam Sandler's character is playing during "Somebody Kill Me Please" is a Gibson ES-335 Semi-hollow body in Heritage Cherry. The amp is a Fender Twin Reverb.

Robbie tells Linda at one point to "Get out of my Van Halen T-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up". David Lee Roth did leave Van Halen in 1985 (the year in which the movie is set).

The song playing at Robbie's aborted wedding to Linda is a string quartet arrangement of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'".

In 2006 it was adapted into a Broadway Musical.

The musical version of the Wedding Singer opened at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on April 27, 2006 and ran for 285 performances.

  1. Adam Sandler is classic; tho his work is more enjoyable as long as he stays with he's best at: casual, unassuming comedies
