fire hits queen..

*first photo from here*

one of my old time favorite parts of toronto is gone. suffered by a six alarm fire just after five, the duke's cycle - a longtime mom-and-pop bike shop in the city was burned to the ground. queen and portland used to also play host to the old 416 graffiti expo which was a weekend of hip hop culture manifested. a weekend where graffiti writers were able to showcase their work and show the public that it's art and not vandalism. great memories on the street corner. it's a shame in a day and age where the city is changing by the minute yet another part of the heritage is gone.

the memories live on.
