the ego breed...

i tend to think i'm a guy's guy. a well balanced individual who can man it up when needed. i also think i've been able to understand the minds of both sexes. however, there's one thing i never seem to understand about the male breed. like how elton sang, why is it so hard for guys to say sorry? or just make some kind of acknowledgement that they were in the wrong? sure with two guys, it's easy. they ignore each other for a while and then they start to talk out of the blue never mentioning the situation again. However, when it comes to the finner sex, it tends to be harder. is it that society driven mold that guys are supposed to be the ones who can't or won't assume any damage? is it just the ignorant and egotistical of the male brain that doesn't allow us to give in to the finner sex? guys would rather sit around the house upset rather than give in and pick up the phone and call her to say something as easy as `i'm sorry' or `i miss you'. i don't get it. i do, but i don't.

maybe that's the problem. that i do get it but i still do it. it's a guy thing, i guess.

way to start off the blog, huh? just something that's been on my mind.

oh yeah. happy family day. what did i do? just like any other long holiday, i slept and ate and slept some more and watched some tv and even wrote a bit. it was relaxing.

did you know it's only one month till spring arrives? yes. this winter has been way too cold, snowy and long for me. i'm ready to see the white stuff leave and on with the lovely green and clear non-slippery sidewalks for the rest of the year. my ankle and my waist would be very thankful.

still reading the anti-smoking book. it's helping. haven't had one since thursday. don't really want one. i do get the craves and i do ache for it, but i don't want to go outside just to light up. i always do fine when i'm indoors and not out. as soon as i hit the social sphere, i cave in. that's the next step to battle. not give in when with people. the only thing that's bugging me is that it would help me sleep. nah. still haven't been able to sleep lately. been up writing, watching tv, playing on the computer, anything that would cause my eyes to get heavy.

like they are now. hopefully this time it'll work. otherwise, i'll see ya in a few short hours.
