Interesting interview from '93. Kurt reveals some stuff including the fact he had scoliosis. For those who don't know, I had it. Had the surgery back in '92. If you're a Nirvana fan, this is worth the listen.

everything but the girl and me
I realized a few months ago that if you search well enough around the Tube, you can find some gold nuggets of some classic full albums. Here's my latest find. Tracey is keeping me company today, belting out her greatest hits.

charles bukowski on individuality
This is what I watch when suffering from Allergies and Insomnia.
Here he is talking individuality.
I tagged along with a friend recently to the docs office. So the long wait would be bearable, she let me read one of her poetry books. A scrapbook of many of her favorite reads. Read a lot of Charles Bulowski.. When I got home, I had to look him up. Now, I'm hooked on his writings. Check out Genius of the Crowd, if you don't know who Charles is.
Here he is talking individuality.

cftr goes all news
Back in 1993, I was an aspiring radio announcer. CFTR is the station that taught me about personality and hitting the post with style. It was also the station that taught me that radio is a business. The mighty powerhouse CFTR was going to flip formats to the first all-news station in Canada. I woke up on an early June morning to hear the last seconds of the station that I visited, listened to, and cherished. I still have the switch on tape somewhere. (You can hear it here)
Here is some footage, shot by the legendary newsman Dick Smyth, of the newsroom shortly after the flip. A little sneak peak of how it was behind the scenes at 25 Adelaide Street East in the wee hours of the morning back in '93. It was an exciting time.

saul's doodle
The best Google Doodle appeared today on the popular search engine. The video celebrated Saul Bass' 93rd birthday. Bass was an American graphic designer and Oscar winning filmmaker, who was primarily known for his design of movie title sequences, film posters and corporate logos. Might have seen his work in The Man with the Golden Arm, and was the guy who did came up with AT&T "bell" and its "globe" logo in the 80s.

Where have I been? Not in the cool room, obviously. I gladly take a late pass on this one. A must hear for any Nas fan.

holdin' on
Was bed ridden all weekend. I started to get this worm in my throat last week. It evolved into a bad cold. Every part of my body was being attacked by trigger happy gremlins who were living inside me. A steak knife happy alien was on a solo mission in my throat to cut my throat off every time I breathed. However, with a lot of rest, an overdose on a helluva drug called Extra Strength Benilyn, and steaming hot tea, I am feeling much better. Throat is still sore, muscles, still sore, but it'll pass. By Wednesday I'll be back to my 100% self.

classic finds from the basement
While looking for some Christmas stuff, I came across a box. The Box. The box that you haven't opened for years. This particular box, I haven't opened since the 90s. I was able to tell by the vintage Adidas the dust was sporting. Anyway, took the time to investigate. Great memories soon came flooding back..

the story of yo! mtv raps.
It ain't like this anymore. Growing up with yearly trips down south, I was lucky enough to get a lot of my early Hip Hop knowledge from YO! MTV Raps. While our Rap City on Much was good at playing the best tunes, YO MTV was just a cultural masterpiece. Here's a new documentary about the making of the epic MTV show, YO! MTV Raps!. Hit it!
